Military helicopters crash in Ankara and Mardin

A Turkish military helicopter crashed at the edge of the capital on Tuesday, killing four soldiers on board while several hours later, another helicopter crashed in southeastern province of Mardin.

The helicopter in Ankara was on a training flight when it hit high tension cables and crashed into a field about 18 kilometers (11 miles) south of the city center, media reports said. Television footage showed the helicopter broken into several pieces. There was no immediate comment from the military.

The other incident took place near Kutluca Village in Ömerli district in Mardin on Tuesday afternoon. Military officers were immediately deployed to the scene for search and rescue efforts.
