Iranian Parliament backs country's diplomatic apparatus

Senior Iranian lawmaker Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard says Iran’s Majlis supports the country’s diplomatic apparatus.

The deputy speaker of Iran’s Majlis on Tuesday expressed support for the “powerful and efficient” diplomatic apparatus of the Islamic Republic. On October 27, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani described the support and cooperation of Majlis as necessary for the success of his administration.

“The administration will not succeed on its path and in its missions if Majlis does not stand by the administration, and the administration by the Majlis, with full strength,” Rouhani stated. Aboutorabi-Fard called on the administration of President Rouhani to reduce Iran’s dependence on petrodollars and revenues from energy carriers in the budget bill for the next Iranian year (starting March 21, 2014) through facilitating cooperation between the two executive and legislative branches of the government.

Aboutorabi-Fard stressed the readiness of the Iranian lawmakers to cooperate with the administration in order to facilitate a dynamic and efficient economy.
