Georgian National Security Council Secretary resigns


Secretary of the Georgian National Security Council Giga Bokeria has resigned. The Georgian presidential administration said today that Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili received a letter of resignation on November 15.


According to the report, Bokeria's four deputies will resign after the inauguration of newly elected Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili on November 17.

Chairperson of the parliamentary procedural committee Irina Imerlishvili will replace Bokeria.
According to the new Georgian constitution which comes into force on November 17, the powers of the National Security Council will be limited.
